"Dear Family" Letter:

What profession did you choose and why did you do so? I chose the profession of being a caregiver because I consider myself a nurturer by nature. My family has a history of serving others above themselves. My mom is the reason I gravitated towards a career where I work with children. I grew up with my mom having an at-home daycare. Seeing how much my mom loves kids instilled that in me, and created the desire for me to want to take care of children. My mom's work gave parents and grandparents peace of mind while in her care, and I knew I wanted to provide that sense of security as well. Why did you decide to work as a live-in caregiver? My desire to become a live-in caregiver stems from the want to provide a sense of protection, care, and readiness to be there for someone's kid(s) like family. I feel as this position really helps the caregiver and kids to connect on a deeper level allowing a bond and level of security. On top of these primary reasons, I love to meet new people and form connections while being immersed in another area and its culture. Why are you the best fit for a family and what are your special skills when working with children? I believe I make a great addition to any family's team, I have 9 years of childcare experience. With that, I have taken early childhood development classes, and have worked in a day school and for several families. Some special skills I have acquired through my experience are helping calm and soothe children when outbursts occur. Helping with homework in a way children understand and, applying a sense of adventure I can administer to any seemingly boring task. As well as a sense of trust and the ability to make a child feel valued and listened to as their minds matter. I also can prepare an array of healthy kid-friendly food and enjoy coming up with crafts and activities away from a screen. How do you like to spend your free time? In my free time, you can find me outside, whether it's paddleboarding or hiking in the summer. Or in the winter you can find me cross country skiing, ice fishing or ice skating. As far as indoor activities go I love to draw, read and cook varying types of meals from Broche to spicy tacos. For those occasions where I'm wanting to kick back, I put on a season of my all-time favorite show, the Survivor. How would you describe your driving skills? I have been driving for 9 years and have maintained a great driving record and am an alert and focused driver. I have been in charge of driving around several families and children and all have felt I am safe, alert, and cautious. All together I can say I am a great driver, and you can have peace of mind with your children in the back seat of any vehicle I drive. What else should a family know about you? As far as what else you need to know, I am a child at heart and children really connect to me because of my energetic and fun-loving nature. I am patient and kind and truly care for the children I take care of, and their welling being and emotional intelligence as well as their intelligence as a whole. I aim to be a cheerleader for your children and a coach when they need a helping hand. All in all, I have a lot of love and patience to share and would love to be a part of your child's formative years.
