Overview

We, at Apex Social, want your stay abroad as a professional au pair to be the best time of your life. Before you leave for the USA, you must attend an Apex Academy one-day seminar. The one-day seminar helps you to optimally prepare for your time abroad and you will receive important information so that your year will be successful.

The following topics are covered:

• Support in the host country by Apex Social and program details
• What you should know about America and American culture
• Living and working in an American household
• Effective communication with the host family
• What you can expect from the first few months in the US
• American Parenting Methods and Expectations
• Opportunities for leisure activities in the USA
• Collaborate with the Area Director and how best to stay in touch
• How to get the most out of your stay abroad

Please choose an appointment at one of the venues that is most convenient for you. Keep in mind that you must have attended one of the Apex Academy one-day seminars before leaving for the United States. Participation is free of charge. The time frame is 6 hours including a lunch break. Please bring your own lunch.
